How Long Toilet Training Takes
How long does it usually take to toilet-train a child?
The answer depends in part on how you define the beginning of the process (When you first introduce the potty? When your child first sits on it? When he first uses it successfully?) and the end (When your child has associated the potty with his need to eliminate? When he has stopped wearing diapers? When he no longer wets the bed at night?).
In cases when a child is physiologically and cognitively ready for toilet training, the basic training process from sitting on the potty to using it with some regularity usually takes around six weeks.
However, your child is likely to experience many accidents and even regressions after this period, and may not be fully dry at night for several more years.
